Criticism of globalisation among young adults as media recipients in Greece

This article presents the results of an ongoing teaching research project on the subjective articulation(s) of young adults on globalisation. Students of educational science in Greece were asked to comment on a music video that makes use of an anti-globalisation frame and at the same time advocates ethnopluralism. In order to capture the producer-related point of view, latent motifs of the staging of reality are examined in a latent class analysis of video sequences. The latent class analysis of subjective positioning of 161 students shows significant differences in the reception behavior of the music video between the two survey dates (2010 and 2012). In the second sample period in the study, there was a much stronger tendency for recipients to identify with an anti-globalization frame.
